All cleaners are responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions. This includes using equipment correctly, wearing any personal protective equipment that has been issued, reporting hazards or incidents promptly, and cooperating with any health and safety instructions or training.
Before carrying out cleaning services, we conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards, evaluate the level of risk, and determine appropriate control measures. Areas considered include slips, trips and falls, manual handling, working at height where applicable, exposure to chemicals, electrical safety and any special risks related to the specific premises.
Where risks are identified, we implement safe systems of work. These may include restricted access to certain areas while cleaning is underway, the use of warning signs, safe use of ladders or step stools for higher areas, and clear procedures for handling and disposing of waste.
